The course starts with an initial virtual consultation with myself (Dr Julia Sen) and Professor Sudip Ghosh at the cost of £100. We will ensure that the programme is suitable for you, explain how it works and set attainable goals. We can also chat through any reservations you may have and answer your questions. If you then wish to sign up, the cost will be £900 (or £320 a month for three months) to include daily Saxenda® injection pens, a further medical assessment at week 10, and three sessions each focussing on nutrition and coaching, as well as the additional support materials. For those who do not join the programme after the first consultation, you will receive a £50 refund.
Your first virtual session will focus on key coaching and nutritional concepts and how these will support you through your journey. This includes approaching weight-loss with kindness and compassion with our coach Steve and the science behind dieting and weight loss with our nutritionist Louise. We’ll also encourage you to start a food diary and journal to use during the programme and build more of an awareness of mindful eating.
Taking the information from your food diary, Louise will explore your current diet and lifestyle and look at ways of optimising your nutrition in a way that fits in perfectly with your life. She will also focus on portion sizes and food groups, and set goals according to your individual circumstances and needs.
Here, our coach Steve will help you explore your thoughts and feelings about losing weight, identify any actions you have already put into place and consider the relationships that support and nurture you on your journey. We’ll also explore how you can draw on mindful eating techniques, bringing kindness, compassion and self-care.
Mid-way through your tailored programme, Louise will discuss your progress and identify additional goals. We will also discuss activity and how you can introduce easy wins in your day-to-day life.
Steve will check in with your to offer guidance on maintaining the goals you have achieved so far. He will look at lifestyle, support network, weight loss action plan, mindful actions and awareness of the consequences as well as focussing on the benefits of the changes you are making.
It’s time to catch up with our medical professionals, to review your progress and offer any advice or guidance that you need as you reach the home stretch.
You will review your progress so far and discuss strategies for the maintenance phase, including goal setting and relapse prevention over the coming months.
In this end of programme review we will discuss the process of relapse prevention in weight loss and lifestyle changes, identifying the factors that can support you in maintaining your progress. You’ll also be asked to complete a final set of questionnaires, and we will discuss these in relation to your ongoing goals.
