Bimatoprost is a prescription only medication which promotes eyelash growth and thickening (hypertrichosis). As an Ophthalmologist I have been prescribing prostaglandin eye drops of this kind for over 20 years for its licenced use in my glaucoma and ocular hypertension patients.
The effect on the eyelash growth is well documented and the long history of use of Bimatoprost means that its safety record is well established as are the potential side effects.
Apply to the lash roots using the fine-tipped brush provided once daily following thorough cleansing of lashes and removal of contact lenses (if worn).
You should start noticing the results within a few weeks. Similar results can also be achieved on eyebrow hair.
Side effects are uncommon and most are reversible following discontinuation:
Allergic reaction (redness, itchiness of eye or eyelid skin)
Darkening of the iris (eye colour) - mainly applies to hazel and brown eyes
Darkening of eyelid skin
Redness of eyelid skin/eye
Tightening of the skin of eyelids
Blurred vision
Dry eye
Rare side effects
Eye inflammation
Rash
Dizziness
Shortness of breath
Headache
